LeaderU has been designed from the ground up to be secure. All communication between our server and Canvas is encrypted. Sensitive data is encrypted in our database and we intentionally limit the data we request and store to limit exposure to data breaches.
While LeaderU does not send any data TO Canvas, we do receive data FROM Canvas. We also store some of the data we receive from Canvas.
Below is a list of the information keys we request and store from Canvas.
Student Information:
lis_person_contact_email_primary
lis_person_name_given
lis_person_name_family
Course Information:
context_title
context_label
context_id
custom_canvas_course_id
Our servers are housed by Amazon, the same as Canvas, so it is also physically secure. Remote access to the server is restricted to a single encrypted channel that a very limited number of FranklinCovey employees have access to.
