Building a Families Certification Team
Designated Families Administrator
We recommend inviting a trusted and highly engaged school staff member to manage your school's Families Certification process. This individual will be known as the Families Administrator. The ideal candidate knows your school community, can execute the selection process, and has a track record of taking projects across the finish line.
Follow these steps to ensure that the designated Families Administrator has “Site Administrator” permissions on *Leader in Me* Online:
- Locate “My School” in the top navigation bar and select “School Users.”
- Click the “Edit” button in the “Actions” column to the far right of the selected staff member’s name.
- Use the drop-down menu to update the “Site Permissions” field to “Site Administrator.”
This staff member can now add and manage selected Workshop Facilitators throughout the certification process.
Workshop Facilitators
Families Administrators can manage facilitators using the table on the Facilitators Dashboard page. Use these buttons to identify and engage selected facilitators:
- "+Add Self" allows the Families Administrator (or any user with Site Administrator permissions) to add themselves to the certification process.
- "+Add School Staff" prompts a pop-up modal with the option to search and add existing school staff users. Users added will be notified via email.
- "+Invite Parent" allows the Families Administrator to type in a parent email address to invite prospective parent facilitators to the certification process with an email address.
Managing the Certification Process
Follow the recommended process to engage prospective facilitators. We encourage schools to use the following process to engage prospective facilitators:
Application
Interested school staff and parents must submit an application to the designated Families Administrator.
Selection
The Families Administrator is responsible for adding selected facilitators and the signed Facilitator Agreements to the Facilitators Dashboard page. Selected facilitators will receive an email from the Leader in Me Online, prompting them to begin the certification process.
Certification
Selected facilitators click the blue “Start Certification” button to access the three-step “Certification Process” page.
Selected facilitators without a signed agreement will not be able to click on the "Start Certification" button. The grayed-out button will reflect a 'Pending' message until the Families Administrator uploads the signed agreement.
